I currently daily drive Haiku OS its hard but doable there are a lot of things you might have to do without at lest there is a usable port of FireFox for haiku which is nice but sadly still no real hardware hardware acceleration which is the same problem some BSD distros have

idk i just use OpenBSD, but right now lol i am just on my phone

i think the cool part about this forum is it has rss feeds alright we cooking now

true

I have been using Haiku for my daily driver since before the first beta. Recent beta 6 nightlies are much more stable and perform quite well.

ive been thinking about using the nightly build of haiku but since i installed the mediaos package I might break my system if i did the upgrade i guess i could uninstall it and see what happens

well it works and now i don's see that black box in Firefox anymore nice

I use Haiku mostly for developing Haiku applications and for contributing to Haiku itself, using the Genio IDE. Also surfing the internet has become a lot better since the LibreWolf port is available. I still have big hopes for the future of WebPositive,I'd absolutely use it more if it only had an adblocker. LibreWolf works, but it doesn't feel native,on the other hand you can't realistically use the modern web without an adblocker. Besides that, applications for emails,office,messaging,... are all available,so there's nothing stopping me from using Haiku full-time on supported hardware. Unfortunately I have some laptops where drivers are still missing, but on most devices it's working great.

I run a BeShare server in Haiku, but still use BeOS for e-mail (early Haiku had file system problems with zillions of files with zillions of attributes). Disks are getting full, so I'm thinking Haiku R6 will be my new e-mail collection host.
